CELEBRITY SHOULD HAVE THE SAME RIGHT
IN POLITICAL PARTY

Many artists who join political parties become controversy in society. Celebrity who is usually dealing with entertainment and politician who is the expert in leadership and politics are debatable problem. Some people assume that artists merely have the popularity for their starting point, however, it is an unjustifiable reason to tackle them down in politic participation. We have to pay attention to the regulation that is every citizen has the same right in politics, whether they are celebrities, man of letters, religious leaders, historians or the command people as long they are able to fulfill the requirements.

Despite most of people have been firmly aware of the regulation but they still disapprove of the existence of celebrity in political party. They are prejudiced against the political understanding of the celebrity moreover they assume that certain political party is recruiting some artists are merely for the one motive only. It is trying to attract the society in order to vote for them. Because they know the society will be interested to someone who often seen on TV in spite of no capability in politics. This way should be called the public political stupidity. They emphasize that democracy is not entertainment and is not a setting for showing up the fantasy.

Although some people insist on debating and hesitating the capability of celebrity to lead the society but there are many artists having the position as legislative members in fact. For instance Adji Masaid, Dede Yusuf, Marisa Haque and Sophan Sofian. If they are not qualified they won’t be chosen by the society and they will never do their jobs well. Moreover, there are some artists who have graduated from law and politic fields. It is impossible if they have nothing in this case.

Celebrity is expert in entertaining someone else on TV, indeed, it doesn’t mean that they will continuously do the same thing in politics. They are educated so they know what to do in the right place. An artist is totally expression when they must act in front of the camera with a view to getting best result based on the script demand. On the contrary, he will do his duty in legislative assembly on behalf of the society properly. We need to know that mostly artists who join political party have basically been experienced in this field. They have been recruited not only because of their popularity but also their sense of capability, accountability, and integrity.

The totality of celebrity working in politics is reliable. After having a position in legislative assembly, they can manage their time of what to do whether it is correlated with politics or entertainment even mostly they have kept away from their previous career for the purpose of focusing in politics and they are hardly ever seen as star on TV anymore. For the sake of society, they have to stop entertaining their fans and have to be ready messing them.

All in all, differentiation of status and profession in politics is not a guarantee of being better in the legislative assembly. Therefore, each citizen should have the same right in politics whoever they are as long they can do the legitimate procedures. They must be treated alike in spite of being an artist. Basically, celebrity is human being also who has the same right with the others.
